Since 1979, Dr. Robin Jewell has been working in health care. She graduated from Anna Maria College then went on for her Master’s in Social Work at Boston College. In 1982 she changed careers and attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Upon graduation, she worked in an ophthalmology practice for several years.
In 1996, she began her business Jewell Eye located next to Lenscrafters at the Solomon Pond Mall. In 1999, she opened the Providence Place location and in 2013, the Worcester location. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Mass. Society of Optometrist and Rhode Island Optometric Society.
Dr. Jewell has been able to combine her optometric and social work degrees. She participates with the Lion’s Club to give those in need of eye exams and eyewear. Dr. Jewell has participated in reach out optometry programs for children in Providence, Worcester, Boston, and Lowell. She has given the gift of sight to those individuals in need in Ecuador, Thailand, Burkina Fosso, Paraguay, and India.

Dr. Robert Peyton works at all three Jewell Eye locations. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. In 2008, he obtained his Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Peyton did his internship at the Newport Naval Health Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Providence, R.I. Since 2010, he has been working at Jewell Eye. Dr. Peyton enjoys spending time with his family. His favorite teams are the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. He is a member of Tuckerman’s Ravine and is an avid skier.

Dr. Stephen Wise was born and raised in Louisiana and attended undergraduate at Greenville College in Illinois, where he also played Division III football. He completed his doctor of optometry from the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Wise’s internships include Boston Medical Center, Newport Naval Health Center, and the Veteran’s Hospital in Providence, RI. He also completed a residency at the Veteran’s Hospital in Brockton, MA. She specializes in primary eye care and contact lens fittings, including toric and multifocal fits. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, cooking, and traveling.

Dr. Roland Estrada is our primary doctor in the Providence office. He attended Classical High School l and got his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rhode Island College. He got his Doctorate in Optometry at the New England College of Optometry. He speaks Spanish fluently. Dr. Estrada has a boxing gym, Big Six Boxing Academy (named after his son Olympian boxer, Jason Estrada,) in Providence.
Dr. Sarah Demty completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She earned her doctorate of optometry from the New England College of Optometry. She completed her internships at the Providence VA, Martha Eliot Health Center, Tufts Medical Center, and Koch Eye. Dr. Demty completed her residency at the Providence VA. She specializes in primary eye care and contact lens fittings, including toric and multifocal fits. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, running, and cooking.
Our full time employees at our Marlborough eye care center are Alicia Brennan and Kelly Hunt. Nicole Corio and Cassie Johnson are in the Worcester Office and Jennifer Brennan and Sheena Sweeney run the Providence location. They all have had extensive training in medical billing.
